WHAT IS

ACCEPTANCE & COMMITMENT THERAPY?

Research indicates that Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is useful for a wide range of psychological disorders, including OCD, depression, anxiety disorders, perfectionism, body image dissatisfaction, eating disorders, and even psychosis. This mindfulness-based approach can help you remain flexibly connected to the present moment even in the presence of unwanted thoughts or physical discomfort. Learning how to observe your thoughts without judgment can help you change your relationship to difficult thoughts and distressing feelings. ACT strategies can be a helpful adjunct to ERP as well as an invaluable resource for other challenges in life.
